ONIC PH notched its second win in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven at the expense of Laus Playbook Esports, 2-0, on Sunday evening.
ONIC PH (2-0) forged a tie with rival Aura PH (2-1) for the number one spot in Group A with five points each.
Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales’ impressed with an insane Ling performance in Game One, constantly picking off Joshua “Aspect” Tating’s Granger and Peter “JAKE THE DOG” Lapitan’s Claude through the help of Jay “Jay” Torculas’ (Angela) Heart Guard.
Though JAKE THE DOG was able to hold his ground against a much-experience ONIC PH squad, it was not enough as the MPL-Philippines Season Six fourth placer secured the 1-0 advantage.
Hate ended up with 10 kills and six assists against a death in Game One. Jay, who won the MVP plum, dished out 12 assists laced with five kills.
ONIC PH brought out almost the same composition in Game Two, and well, let’s just say that Playbook failed to solve that puzzle anew.
Jay once again played spectacularly with Angela, finishing with 11 dimes and a kill without a death to remain perfect for the entire series.
Hate registered five kills, a death, and five assists with Ling while Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog (Alice) added three kills and four assists against a death en route to the MVP award.
Aspect’s Harley had three kills, four deaths, and two assists for Playbook (1-2), who is still at the bottom of Group B with three points.
ONIC PH looks to make it three in a row against Work Auster Force on Friday, April 9 at 6:00 pm while Laus Playbook Esports will go up against Cignal Ultra on Sunday, April 11 at 4:30 pm.
