Smart Omega books seat to Dota Pro Circuit lower division

Smart Omega finished the Closed Qualifier Stage Two at the top spot to claim a seat in the Dota Pro Circuit: Season One Southeast Asia Regional League lower division, Sunday evening.

Omega finished at the top of Group B with three wins and two draws for an 8-2 tally, tying Galaxy Racer, who topped Group A, for first to second place.

Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva’s Batrider spearheaded Omega’s 2-0 thrashing of Team SMG in their first assignment of the day.

The Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, who struggled early in the match, came back from the dead and put up 18 kills, four deaths, and 13 assists along with a total net worth of 14,281 – the highest in Game One.

It was a dominant outing for the Cebuanos, pulling the curtains down in just 23 minutes and 14 seconds of action. Omega also put up 40 kills in the match while SMG only had 13.

Jun “Bok” Kanehara added 10 kills, two deaths, and nine assists using Legion Commander. Team captain Marvin “Boomy” Rushton chimed in seven kills, three deaths, and six assists playing Rubick while Justin “Tino” Grimaldo had four kills, two deaths, and 12 assists with Riki.

Bryle “cml” Alvizo finished with a game-high 19 assists along with a kill and three deaths using Grimstroke.

The Smart-backed squad had a tougher time dealing with SMG in Game Two but was still able to notch the sweep.

Filipino-American carry Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr. did not suit up for SMG in the match.

Omega then settled for a 1-1 draw against Yangon Galacticos – already enough for a first-second place finish in the qualifiers.

Cignal Ultra also qualified for the lower division after consecutive draw results against Galaxy Racer and Lilgun.
