With National Capitol Region-Plus still under lockdown, the Premier Volleyball League is looking to discuss with all 12 of its member teams new options for the start of the Open Conference.
Because of the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine, all teams stopped practices as early as last week.
“We’ll probably have to move the opening,” said league President Ricky Palou.
“We will be meeting with our team owners and representatives later this week or early next week to discuss our options.”
The league was originally scheduled to start on April 10, but had to move the opener to the third week of May as the teams requested more time to train.
Some teams have already begun batch trainings.
Creamline, Choco Mucho, and Perlas have received clearance from the Games and Amusements Board and the Mandaluyong government unit to train in Ronac Shaw Boulevard.
Bali Pure and UAC have also gained clearance to hold practices in RIM and SGS gyms in Quezon City, respectively. Cignal and PLDT have been training in Paco Arena and San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Manila, respectively.
Sta. Lucia and Chery Tiggo were teams training outside of Metro Manila. The former held practice in East Grand Mall in Cainta, while the latter entered a bubble in Subic.
Guest team Army is training at its wellness center in Taguig.
F2 Logistics has yet to declare where they plan to train.
Currently, the players are back to doing online trainings.
The PVL is planning to hold its Open Conference inside the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
