MPL-Philippines debutants Work Auster Force has reinforced its coaching staff, Wednesday evening.
Work Auster Force announced that it has signed MPL shoutcaster Dan “Leo” Cubangay as their technical coach and analyst.
“We would like to welcome onboard our Technical Coach/Analyst, Dan ‘Leo’ Cubangay. Leo was a Radio DJ turned Esports personality. He had hard-earned professional shoutcasting standards and technical know-how; a mastery over his voice as much as mastery over game knowledge – all of which makes him stand out as an Esports Broadcaster, Coach, and Analyst in the Philippine Esports industry,” read Work Auster Force’s statement.
“We are so thrilled about having you on our team! With your experience and talent, you will be a great addition. Welcome to our Work Auster Force Family, Coach Leo.”
Work Auster Force currently stands fourth in Group A with a 1-1 record for three points. It is one point behind third placer and defending champion BREN Esports.
The team showed flashes of brilliance in its debut, winning Game One against two-time champion Aura PH before surrendering the next two games. Work Auster Force then chalked up its first win after a 2-1 result against fan-favorite Nexplay Esports last Sunday.
Signing MPL shoutcasters as part of its coaching staff has become a trend in the league over the past couple of months.
ONIC PH also has Caisam “Wolf” Nopueto on their coaching staff. Meanwhile, MPL analyst Neil “Midnight” De Guzman has previously worked with Omega Esports in the league’s previous seasons.
Leo has promised that he will still be objective when calling the MPL-PH games, though.
“I promise you this, when I am on camera during the broadcast, I will do my best to be a hundred-percent fair and objective towards the entire league, the competition, and everyone involved.
“The production team, Moonton, and all the stakeholders have been informed. Certain arrangements have been made to accommodate my special role as both a shoutcaster and coach/analyst. I will work hard to give my all in both roles, in the right way,” he said on his Facebook page.
Work Auster Force will go up against ONIC PH when the league resume play on April 9, Friday.
