Eumir Marcial to carry Zamboanga Valientes in pro debut

Eumir Marcial will show the world what the Valientes spirit is all about when he makes his professional debut on Thursday (Manila time).

The proud son of Zamboanga City will be entering the Shrine Exhibition Center in Los Angeles, California with the beloved Zamboanga Valientes song blazing in the background.

And for Valientes team owner Rolando Navarro, he feels immensely proud of Marcial as his late dad Lando had been supporting Marcial since he was a kid.

It’s a big honor to our city and the Philippines,” said Navarro.

In his debut bout, Marcial – who is bound for the Tokyo Olympics next year – will face American Andrew Whitfield (3-1) in his debut.

It’s a much-awaited fight, as Marcial will try to prove that Filipinos can also succeed in the higher weight classes. Moreover, it will prove that Zamboangueno athletes are world-class.
