Jericho Cruz will be in for a grind during the February window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
FIBA has announced that the February window of the Qualifiers will be the final game dates for the meet. With this, Guam will have to play five games from February 17 to 22 in Clark, Pampanga.
Guam takes on on Hong Kong on the 17th, Australia on the 18th, Hong Kong again on the 19th, New Zealand on the 21st, and then Australia again on the 22nd.
This is due to Pool C not playing any games during the February window. All four participating teams had deemed it unsafe to depart their respective countries due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Guam is 0-1 in Pool C.
After already playing two games during the February window, Australia and New Zealand will only play in four in Clark.
The 2-0 Tall Blacks face Hong Kong on the 18th, Australia on the 19th, Guam on the 21st, and Hong Kong again on the 22nd.
Meanwhile, the 1-1 Boomers squares off against Guam on the 18th, New Zealand on the 19th, Hong Kong on the 21st, and Guam again on the 22nd.
Hong Kong, also 0-1, will also play six games in Clark. Their homestand against Guam during the opening window was postponed due to the pandemic as well.
This will be the first time the Boomers will play in the Philippines since the Bulacan brawl July 2, 2018. New Zealand competed here during the 2016 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
This is also Hong Kong’s first trip to the country since the 2013 FIBA Asia Cup, while this will be the first time Guam pays the country a visit.
