Tenorio stops Pogoy’s flurry, sends Ginebra to brink of PBA PH Cup

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY – Barangay Ginebra withstood a hurting yet gritty TNT, 98-88, to post a commanding 3-1 lead in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup Finals Sunday night at the SMART 5G-powered AUF Sports and Cultural Center.

LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson came up big down the stretch to save the Gin Kings anew on their way to the victory that moved them on the threshold of bagging home the coveted Jun Bernardino Trophy.

Ginebra saw its 18-point lead early in the final chapter become just three, 91-88, no thanks to the hot hands of Roger Pogoy, but the backcourt partners connived for a 7-0 run to restore order and settle the final count.

Game Five is on Wednesday.
