Bagunas drops 26, but Padar’s 40 lifts Toray past Oita Miyoshi

Bryan Bagunas put on a beastly performance at the Sumida City Gymnasium, Saturday.

However, it did not prevent his Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler from falling to Toray Arrows in five hard-fought sets, 21-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-20, 11-15, in the 2020-21 Japan V. League Division 1 Men’s Tournament.

The Filipino import unleashed 26 points, founded on 23 spikes including 10 backrow hits, two blocks, and a service ace but could not push his team to their first win in the tournament.

Fellow import Curtis Stockton added 19 markers while local Masaya Katsu had 18.

Oita Miyoshi dropped to 0-9, tied with VC Nagano Tridents for the last place.

Hungarian Krisztian Padar was a beast of his own for the Arrows, exploding with 40 points on 34 attacks, four blocks, and two aces.

Toray upped its win-loss record to 4-5 for seventh place.

Weisse Adler look for its first win when they go against the Arrows again tomorrow, 3 pm, at the same venue.
