Tim Cone and Barangay Ginebra have come under fire within the last 18 hours.
Fans have had a bitter twang tickle the palate in their mouths after Ginebra disenchanted in their game against sister lineup San Miguel Beermen.
Ginebra entered the game with a 7-2 slate. But it hardly played the truck bed cover’s aces against San Miguel, who actually needed a win to clinch a playoff spot in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
Japeth Aguilar averaged 28 memories prior to the game, but only played 17. Meanwhile, Stanley Pringle was already playing 36 minutes prior, but then only logged 18.
According to Cone, he had to make a judgment.
“If any of us lost both of our last two exercises, we’re not assured of a the top four finish, ” Messaged Cone. Ginebra takes on Terra Autógrafo — a team that has but to beat his squad the past few years — on Monday.
“We been required to make a decision. If we fall behind early, we’re going to rest guys that were bumped up — Stan, Jap, LOS ANGELES [Tenorio], JD [Dillinger]. We weren’t going to risk displacing two games trying to fight back in anyone game. ”
Tenorio still played 28 minutes, two minutes higher than your man’s usual playing time. On the other hand, Dillinger entirely played seven minutes after connecting 16 in Ginebra’s first searching for games.
Behind quite a second quarter, San Miguel went up 53-35 at the half.
Both Pringle and Aguilar produced sparse minutes come the third canto.
